Separate appearance from function
A cosmetic outer face and a bearing seat need different instructions. Identify both instead of applying the same finish requirement to the entire part.
Choose the reference
Use a finish designation, a color reference or an agreed physical sample. A photograph can explain the intention but is a poor way to specify an exact color.
Mark what stays untouched
Identify threads, electrical contact areas and critical fits that need masking or protection. Discuss whether dimensions apply before or after finishing.
Agree acceptance
Record how visible surfaces will be viewed and which defects matter. Put those requirements in the quotation review before approving production.

Add the requirements to your project brief and attach the current drawing revision. Keep any open questions visible so they can be resolved during quotation.
